Obituary of Charles Hall

Charles Robert "Chic" Hall, 90, of Freehold passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Chic was born in Adelphia and was a lifelong resident of the community. He worked for the First National Bank of Freehold, leaving in 1960 to pursue his career as a professional draftsman working for Buck Engineering, Cherefko and PL Custom Body until his retirement. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Italy. Chic was a member of the First Baptist Church of Freehold and former Sunday School teacher, was a President Emeritus of the Adelphia Cemetery Association, he was also a member of the Adelphia Fire Company, the Howell Historical Society, a Boy Scout leader in his early years and enjoyed Square Dancing and camping. Chic was predeceased by a brother, Raymond White Hall; and two grandsons, Devin Hall and James Hall. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lucy Catharine Hall of Freehold; a daughter, Madolin May Hall of Freehold; three sons, Arthur E. Hall of Columbia, MD, Richard A. Hall of Grand Rapids, MI and Robert C. Hall of Arden, NC; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Interment will follow in Adelphia Cemetery, Adelphia.
