Obituary of Kathleen Bongiovi

Kathleen F. Bongiovi, 78, of Howell passed away at home on Friday, May 1, 2015. Kathleen was born in New Brunswick, raised in Spotswood and had lived in Howell for over 40 years until retiring to Grand Island, FL in 1999. She moved back to Howell in 2012 to live with her daughter. Kathleen was the deputy clerk for Howell Township for over twenty-five years, retiring in 1999. She loved baseball and football and was an avid fan of the Giants and the Mets. Kathleen enjoyed watching the Food Network, trips to Atlantic City, Scratch offs and playing Bingo. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Donald F. Bongiovi in May of 2004; and a sister, Patricia Mayo in November 2007. She is survived by a son, Glenn Bongiovi and his wife, Kris of Pt. Pleasant Boro; a daughter, Donna Belton and her husband, Howard of Howell; five grandchildren, Nicholas Belton, Erica Belton, Gage Bongiovi, Dane Bongiovi and Tyler Johnsen; a sister, Eileen Buraczwski of Florida; a dear friend, Jackie Joubert of Maine; her caretaker, Liza Gleason of Howell; her niece, Linda Mayo of Chicago; her nephew, John Mayo of Florida; and her new faithful canine companion, Madison. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM with her funeral service to follow at 5:00 PM. Interment will be private.
