Obituary of Philip Smolinski

Philip S. Smolinski, 48, of Howell passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 at the MediCenter, Neptune City after a three year battle with cancer. Philip was born in Newark, raised in Union and had lived in Edison and Freehold Township before moving to Howell in 1994. He was a bus operator for New Jersey Transit, Monmouth Academy and the New York MTA. Philip had a passion for traveling, but hated to fly. He loved to cruise with Glenn throughout the Caribbean and the world. He enjoyed spending time at the beach just sitting and watching the waves, but his true love was for his family and friends. Philip is survived by his partner of 31 years, Glenn J. Okulewicz of Howell; his mother, Frances Smolinski of Howell; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Smolinski and Helen Lutz of Garwood; his in-laws, Stanley and Marion Okulewicz of Edison; two brothers-in-law, Gary Okulewicz of Edison and Guy Okulewicz and his wife, Susan of Jackson; two nieces, Caisey Smolinski and Jennifer Okulewicz; and two nephews, Jack Smolinski and Michael Okulewicz. A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with his memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM.
