Obituary of Kathleen Reitsma

Kathleen M. Reitsma, 64, of Howell passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Bartley Healthcare Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living, Jackson. Kathy was born in Jersey City and raised in Kearny before settling in Howell in 1985. Prior to serving as the Deputy Surrogate for the County of Monmouth, Kathy worked for The Brace Place and the school office of St. Veronica School. She loved to golf at the county courses, dance and cook for her family, as well as going to the beach. She enjoyed Broadway shows and was so very proud of her Irish heritage. More than anything, Kathy loved to watch her grandson participate in sports. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Helen Ryan; two brothers, Thomas and Walter; and three sisters, Claire, Helen and Fran. Kathy is survived by her two sons, John Reitsma and Walter Reitsma; a daughter, Jeanine Reitsma; a grandson, Shane Reitsma'; one sister, Patricia Murphy; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral at the funeral home on Monday, March 30, 2015. Interment will be private.
