Obituary of Anthony Festa

Anthony C. Festa, 85, of Freehold passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Wedgewood Gardens, Freehold. Anthony was born, raised and had lived in Brooklyn before moving to the Westerleigh section of Staten Island. He settled in The Villages, Freehold in 2006. Anthony was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Seabee's during World War II. He was a member of the Atomic War Veteran Association and a member of the V.F.W. Post # 4374, Freehold. Anthony was a life member of the Knight of Columbus. He was a former parishioner of St. Rita's Catholic Church, Staten Island, NY and a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township. Anthony was predeceased by his brother, Frank Festa and two sisters, Rose Pacifico and Edith Marotto. He is survived by his wife, Rose Festa; two sons, John Festa and his wife, Jennifer of Colts Neck and Thomas Festa and his wife, Grace of Princess Bay, Staten Island, NY; six grandchildren, Kimberly Festa, Matthew Festa, Kate Festa, Thomas Festa and his wife, Noelle, Christopher Festa, and Nicholas Festa; three great grandchildren, Lorenzo, Arianna and Anthony; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, March 5, 2012 and Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friend are invited to attend the Rite of Committal at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 9:00 AM followed by his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
