Obituary of Rose Connell

Rose Heather Connell, 71, of Jackson passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Heather was born and raised in the Elm Park section of Staten Island and had lived in Freehold Township for 34 years before moving to Jackson in 2004. She was a school nurse for the Freehold Township Board of Education at the Applegate School for over 30 years before retiring in 2000. Heather was a parishioner at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Jackson. Heather is survived by her daughter, Heather Tompkins and her husband, David of Farmingdale; her son, John Connell of Keyport; two grandsons, Kyle and Ryan Tompkins of Farmingdale; three brothers, William McGrath and his wife, Nola of California, Timothy McGrath of California and Gerard McGrath of Nevada; three sisters, Mary Anne McGrath of Nevada, Susan Greico and her husband, Edward of New York and Kathryn McGrath of Nevada; two nephews; and seven nieces. A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 5:00 to 6:30 PM with her memorial service to follow at 6:30 PM.
