Obituary of Jean Giaccone

Jean Giaccone, 96, of Freehold Township passed away at home on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Jean was born in New York City, was raised in Brooklyn and had lived in Queens, Copiague, Long Island, Green Valley, Arizona and Jackson before moving to Freehold Township in 2003. She was a shop steward for the I.L.G.W.U., Long Island until her retirement. Jean was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City and traveling throughout the United States with her husband in their camper. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Frank Giaccone in 2001; three brothers, Joe Fontana, Willie Fontana and Vito Fontana; and a sister, Susan DeVito. She is survived by her children, Rosaria Muscatelli of Milford, Connecticut, Maria Connell and her husband, Tom of Freehold Township, New Jersey, and a son, Anthony Giaccone and his wife, Jane of St. Petersburg, Florida; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Buccellato of Valley Stream, New York and Josephine Parrino of Copiague, Long Island; two sisters-in-law, Angelina Lacari of Queens, New York and Annette Giaccone of Dix Hills, Long Island; and numerous Loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 9:00 AM for the procession to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold for her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
