Obituary of Dominick Romeo

Dominick F. Romeo, 86, of Glendale, AZ passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Goldwater Assisted Living. Dominick was born in Canaan, NY to the late Frank and Helen Romeo. He was raised and lived in New York and New Jersey prior to moving to Arizona in 2008. Dominick was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. He was past Exalted Ruler of the BPOE Elks Lodge in New Jersey. Dominick was also a past member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Freehold. He was a loving, compassionate father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed. Dominick was predeceased by his parents; his loving wife of 47 years, Ruth; and his stepson, James Hess. He is survived by two daughters, Susan Romeo and Ellen Romeo-Kjeka (Tor); one stepdaughter, Barbara Katko (Edward); seven grandchildren Andrea, Michael, Kaleigh, Todd, Chad, April and Edward; two great grandchildren, Addison and Gracie; and his sister, Rose Tranotti of Old Bridge. Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Friday, February 6, 2015 for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
