Obituary of Lois Deuel

Lois Mae Darrah Deuel, 74, of Howell died at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 14, 2014. She was born May 18, 1940 to Margaret Elizabeth Wheatley Hetrick and Herbert Francis Hetrick in Baltimore, MD. From Maryland she lived in Sunbury, PA for her early childhood years. From Pennsylvania, she moved to Middlesex County, NJ where she settled down and raised her family in East Brunswick. Most of her retirement years she spent in the rolling country side of Pittstown until 2011 when she moved to Howell to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Lois began her career in banking as a teller with The Edison Bank. Through her kindness, dedicated work ethic and passion for quality customer service, she was promoted to Bank Manager. During her 30+ years of loyalty to the many faces of banking including First National State, First Fidelity, First Union and Wachovia to name a few, Lois was loved by all. Lois was an active member of the East Brunswick Golden Bears Pop Warner Football and was a team player in many bowling leagues. What she loved most was her family, and she was happiest when spending time with them. Lois was known for being fun loving, generous and kind to all. Her ceramic masterpieces will be treasured by all who were honored to be given them. Whether you called her Mom, Ma, Grandma, Lois, Loie or Lou, you will surely miss her. We will all hold a piece of her in our hearts forever. Devoted mother to Donna Lee Daniel (Charlie) of Howell, NJ and John J. Darrah, Jr. (Cricket) of Howell, NJ; Step-mother to Glenn Deuel (Cori), Denise Skudera (Kevin), Bruce Deuel, and Lisa Brown (Craig); cherished by her 13 grandchildren.
