Obituary of Dorothy Gerrity

Dorothy E. Gerrity, 83, of Lakewood passed away at home on Friday, February 3, 2012. Dorothy was born in Brooklyn and was raised in Queens Village and had lived in Rockaway Beach before moving to Lakewood in 1972. She was a homemaker and worked for Paco Pharmaceuticals, Lakewood for over fifteen years retiring in 1997. Dorothy was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, Lakewood. She had an unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Dorothy will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles A. Gerrity; a son, Michael Gerrity; and a brother, Edmond Smith. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Kevin Gerrity of Lakewood and Steven Gerrity and his wife, Wanda of Point Pleasant; a daughter, Deborah McKenna and her husband, Michael of Agawam, Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Michael McKenna and his wife, Collete, Deborah Morand and her husband, Greg, Ryan Gerrity and Matthew Gerrity; four great grandchildren, John, Harrison, Charlie, and Evelyn; a brother, Gregory Smith of Long Island; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Rite of Committal at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 9:00 AM followed by her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 43 Madison Ave, Lakewood. Interment to follow in St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Cemetery, Lakewood.
