Obituary of Virginia Johnson

Virginia "Ginny" Johnson, 75, of Freehold passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Virginia was born in Manhattan and had lived in Colonia before moving to Freehold in 2011. She graduated from Newark State Teachers College in 1961. Virginia worked for Cities Service Companies on the NJ Turnpike. She and her husband operated the Main and Cherry Coffee Shop in Rahway. Most recently she worked for Supermarkets General in Carteret and Freight Cargo Logistics in Skillman. She was a parishioner of St. John Vianney Church, Colonia. Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Thomas C. Johnson, in 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Johnson of Freehold; one son, Rich Johnson of Howell; her daughter, Joy Saitta and her husband, John, of Saylorsburg, PA; two granddaughters, Felecia Johnson and Maria Saitta; one sister, Dorothy Anthony of Florida; and one brother, Robert McCarthy of Texas. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 25, 2014 for the procession to her 9:45 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold.
