Obituary of Eugene Partala

Eugene P. "Gene" Partala, 59, of Aston, PA passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at home. Gene was born in Glen Cove, NY, was raised in Howell, NJ, and had lived in Minnesota and Wallingford, PA before moving to Aston, PA in 2000. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Gene worked as an airline mechanic for Northwest Airlines in Minnesota and Philadelphia for over twenty years. He then worked for Sikorsky Global Helicopter in Coatesville, PA until retiring this April. Gene was a "Trekkie". He lived for aviation and reveled in attending airshows. Gene had a passion for live music and wine festivals. As an artist, he enjoyed pencil sketching everything and anything but most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family. Gene was predeceased by his father, Peter Partala in 2010 and his sister, Lubow Partala in 2009. He is survived by his mother, Maria Partala of Howell; a brother, Alexander P. Partala of Howell; two sisters, Sieglinda "Linda" Bonfilio and her husband, Robert of Brockway, PA and Maria A. Partala of Howell; a nephew, John Martin Bonfilio of Overland Park, Kansas; three stepsons, Richard Francisco of Oregon; Timothy Francisco and his wife, Erin and their children of Pennsylvania, and Matthew Francisco of Minnesota; an uncle, Michael Pichler and his wife, Frieda of Virginia; two aunts, Diane Byer of Oklahoma and Judith Sanders of Oklahoma; and two cousins, Claudine Winders of Oklahoma and Jill Coleman of California. A pannyhida will be held at St. Alexander Nevsky R. O. Cathedral, 200 Alexander Avenue, Howell on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral service at the Cathedral on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lakewood.
