Obituary of Joseph Parisi

Joseph J. Parisi, 87, of Freehold Township, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Joseph was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ and had lived in Staten Island, NY before moving to Freehold Township in 1989. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Austria during World War II. Joseph retired as a draftsman for Mezzacappa Brothers, Staten Island. He enjoyed old movies and was an avid reader. Joseph loved handicapping thoroughbred horses, but his dearest affection was for his family. Joseph is survived by his wife, Carmela "Millie" Lenza; a daughter, Joanne Aitchison and her husband, Iain of Howell; a son, Joseph Parisi and his wife, Christine of Little River, SC; four grandchildren, Nicole Giove and her husband, Justin, Kristen Parisi, Kaitlyn Parisi, and Joseph Parisi; a great granddaughter, Amelia Giove; and two sisters, Irene Connery and Millie Parisi. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM Funeral Service at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, Route 520, Marlboro.
