Obituary of George E. Gordon, III

George E. Gordon, III, 68, passed away at home on Friday, September 25, 2020.  A lifelong resident of Jackson, he worked for Pomponio Trucking and Shore Point Distributors prior to his employment as a machine operator for Bil-Jim Construction, Jackson.  A true outdoorsmen, he loved fishing, and was a member of the Moose Lodge and Poppe “The Gang” Hunting Club, both in Jackson.  George also was a car and truck enthusiast and enjoyed watching westerns. 

He was predeceased by his parents, George Gordon, Jr. and Mary Jane Gordon; and two brothers, Carl J. Gordon and Frank Gordon.  George is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Gordon of Jackson; daughter, Cindy Moriarity and her husband, James of Bayville; son, Clinton Gordon of Jackson; granddaughter, Ellis; and nephew, Christopher Torre of Barnegat.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM with his funeral service to follow.  For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines.
