Obituary of Vicente Fernandez

Vicente Fernandez, 95, of Jackson passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Bartley HealthCare. He was born and raised in Havana, Cuba, moved to the United States in 1960 and settled in New York City. Vicente then lived in Union City in 1966, moved to Jersey City, and Toms River, before finally settling to Jackson. He was a Jeweler for 34 years before his retirement in 1970. Vicente loved to read in his spare time. He was an avid carpenter and handy man, which led to his amazing work as a wood worker. Vicente would always find joy in traveling especially by car or by bus. His favorite past time was going to the beach and having lunch with his late wife, Maria.

Vicente was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maria Fernandez. He is survived by his son, Jorge Fernandez and his wife, Robin of Jackson, NJ; grandchildren, George Andrew Fernandez and his wife, Danielle of Jackson, NJ, Daniel Jay Fernandez of Little Ferry, NJ, Alexander Rey Fernandez of North Brunswick, NJ, and Evan Joseph Fernandez of Jackson, NJ; and a great granddaughter, Ava Rose Fernandez of Jackson.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, private services will be held for the immediate family. Entombment will take place in Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, Morganville.
