George Bassolino

Obituary of George Bassolino

George Bassolino, 84, of Jackson, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. George was born and raised in Brooklyn. He married his childhood sweetheart Rosemary and they celebrated 63 years of marriage in October 2023.

George and Rosemary were blessed with 4 children.

George Bassolino 3rd (spouse Amelia), Jean Dimaria (spouse Nicolo), Joseph Bassolino (Jim Decinque spouse), Rosemarie Norton (spouse Jeffrey).

George enjoyed spending time with his 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandkids. He also was an avid reader, a mets and jets fan and also loved his Tuesday night poker games at the clubhouse.

George entered a plumbing business started by his dad and went on to become a licensed master plumber in the city of New York. He was active in the plumbing association organization and became president in 1977-1979. George gained admiration and respect for the leadership role he played. The business continues on today under the leadership of George 3rd and wife Amelia. George IV is also working in the business and so the legacy continues.

George retired in 1995 and in 2004 moved to New Jersey where he became active in an adult community. He served as president on the board of trustees and also was chairman of the building and grounds committee.

Well done, George. You will truly be missed.
