Obituary of Carolyn C. Doll

Carolyn C. Doll, 82, of Manchester passed away at the Jewish Home for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Freehold Township on Thursday, December 28, 2023.  She was born in Flushing, Queens and raised in Whitestone, NY.  Carolyn attended high school in Missouri and then moved back to New York for many years.  During that period, she worked as a creative director in a friend’s gift shop, The Art of Things, in Flushing, NY. In 1998 she took up residence in Freehold Township where she remained until settling in Whiting in 2018.  Carolyn loved baking and cooking.  Her hobbies included painting and crocheting, and when she was able to, she took great pleasure in gardening. 

Carolyn was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Richard J. Doll; parents, Robert H. Banker, Sr. and Helen Banker; sister, Delemar N. Banker-Ehrhardt; brother, Robert H. Banker, III; and cousin, Betty Jane Heinz.  She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Talamo and her husband, John of Freehold Township; son, Matthew Doll and his wife, Susan of Downingtown, PA; and grandchildren, Frank Talamo, Megan Doll and her fiancé, Ted Nebiolo, Gina Talamo and Madison Doll. 

A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:30 PM with her funeral service to follow at 7:30 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a burial of ashes on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 10:30 AM in Flushing Cemetery, Flushing, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carolyn’s name may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  For information, directions or to leave condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
