Obituary of Ellen Walsh

Ellen Walsh, 93, of Howell Township passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Ellen was born and raised in Lispole, County Kerry, Ireland. She moved to London, England before emigrating to the United States in 1961 settling in Brooklyn. In 1995, Ellen moved to Howell Township to be with her daughter. She retired in 1999 after thirty-six years of dedicated service as a Proof Expeditor for Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City.

A woman of deep faith, Ellen was a parishioner of The Church of St. Veronica in Howell Township. She enjoyed the simple things in life, sitting on the deck and her walks. Ellen would travel home to Lispole often throughout her years abroad. Yet the most important thing in the world was being Gaga to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Donald Austin Walsh and her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Fitzgerald and her husband, Kieran; grandchildren, Nicol Darron and her husband, Jeremy, Tara Fitzgerald and Austin Fitzgerald; and her great-grandchildren, Chase and Brooke.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 9:00 AM for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell, NJ.
