Obituary of Lillian A. Joyce

Lillian A. Joyce, 92, of Farmingdale passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Sunnyside Manor in Wall.  Lillian was born and raised in New York City.  She lived in Staten Island before settling in Colts Neck to raise her family.  Lillian moved to Farmingdale in 1994.  A woman of true faith, she was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale and a former parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colts Neck. 

Lillian was a dedicated homemaker and mom to her children until joining the workforce at the age of 65.  She was a teacher for the Arc of Monmouth in Long Branch until she retired.  She had a passion for travel, traveling to places in Europe like Italy and Ireland and to as far as Hawaii and China.  Lillian was an amazing baker but most of all, really enjoyed being a “Grandma” to her grandchildren.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Thomas in 1999.  She is survived by her children, James Joyce and his wife, Hjordis “Jaye”, John Joyce and his wife, Helen, Thomas Joyce and his wife, Jeannette, Joseph Joyce, and Linda Moore; grandchildren, Grace, Christopher, Thomas, Samantha and Matthew; and step-grandchildren, Romnick and Andy.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM for the procession to her 11:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale.  Interment will follow in Holmdel Cemetery and Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 or HERE.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
