Condolences
Fifty years after graduating from MRHS Mr Burke’s name still pops up in conversations with my younger brother, Bill. I took Mr Burke’s wood shop class and also took his advanced woodworking class the very first year it was offered. Three years later Bill followed in my footsteps. I became an engineer with a small basement wood shop, Bill became a master carpenter with extraordinary woodworking skills. Thank you Mr Burke, rest in peace.
Winnie,
Dagmar here. I cannot believe that Charlie died the day before my Ed passed. Charlie was a terrific guy as we all know and Ed found him to be a truly incredible man. I am so sorry for you for the loss, but finding my darling Ed gone from me the following day is some kind of incredible circumstance.
My best to you and your family. Please contact me when you can, I have been trying to reach out to you for the last year.
With love, Dagmar
Charlie was a United Flying Octogenarians (UFO) in good standing and always helpful went called upon to help out. The flying community is one small family, so any one who has flown west is missed. Tailwinds forever.

So sorry to hear of your Dad's death, Lori. He and I became Fraternity brothers when we were students together at Newark State. Charlie had a quiet sense of humor and was friends with everyone. I'm not surprised to read about the many turns he took in his life. He was always immersed in creative challenges, so to know he successfully pursued Karate honors and earned his pilot's license at 70 was pure Charlie. I trust you are surrounded by a wide circle of family and friends at this sad time.
