Obituary of Robert A. Putman
Robert A. Putman, 78, of Jackson, NJ passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Bartley Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, lived in Queens and lived in Freehold before settling in Jackson in 2013. Robert served his country with honor and bravery as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He had a long and successful career as the Superintendent at Peepels Mechanical Corporation, where he worked tirelessly for 37 years. In his spare time, Robert was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus in Jackson council 6201 where he achieved the prestigious rank of 4th degree knight and the Jackson VFW post 4703. He took great pride in his service to both organizations. Robert had a passion for boating and fishing, and he could often be found enjoying the ocean with his loved ones. He was a true family man who cherished spending time with his wife, children and friends.
He was predeceased by his son, Brian Putman, parents, William and Delores Putman and brother, William Putman. Robert is survived by his wife, Paulette Putman of Jackson; two children, Eric Putman of Toms River and Kerri Shaw of California; sister, Patricia Cahn and sister-in-law, Linda Wolters.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
