Obituary of Donald Alfred Briden
Donald Alfred Briden, 88, passed away on July 19, 2025 at Brandywine Howell, NJ.
Raised in Bloomfield and Mountain Lakes, Don graduated from Mountain Lakes High School in 1954. He attended Washington & Lee University, graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and received his master's from Rutgers University. Don was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army's National Security division, having served in Germany. His private sector career included international pharmaceutical and electronics firms, CBS Music in Paris, and later as a computer science consultant.
In addition to his time in Germany, Don lived in NYC, Paris, Belmar, and Milton, DE. He was an avid international traveler, journeying to more than 150 countries and an accomplished skier. Don enjoyed playing tennis, the Jersey Shore, family genealogy and his favorite team, the Yankees.
Don is pre-deceased by his parents, Alfred A. Briden and Eleanor Mueller Briden. He is survived by his siblings, C. Richard Briden, Martha Brocko, and Frank Briden; his nieces and nephews, Sharon Briden, Jill Staller, Peter Briden, Thomas Briden, John Brocko, Kathryn Brocko, Kurt Brocko, and Heather Dodd; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and his favorite travel companion, Rosemary Sparandera.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Donald's memory at a later date.
