Obituary of Debra Ann McKeon

Debra Ann (Spagnoli) McKeon

February 28, 1959 – July 19, 2025

Debra Ann (Spagnoli) McKeon, beloved sister, friend, and caregiver, passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 66. Born in Montclair, New Jersey, on February 28, 1959, to Anthony Spagnoli and Diona Francis (Kulinski), Debbie was raised in Metuchen, where she formed lifelong friendships and created lasting memories.

Later in life, Debbie married Robert McKeon and made her home in Port Republic, New Jersey. She was known for her zest for life, her unfiltered sense of humor, and her deep love of animals—affectionately referring to her many pets over the years as her “fur babies.”

Debbie had a generous spirit and a heart full of compassion. She lovingly cared for her mother in her later years, a role she took on with grace and devotion. Down-to-earth and genuinely kind, Debbie had a warm, approachable nature that made people feel instantly at ease. Her resilience in the face of personal challenges, especially her struggles with mental health, was a testament to her strength. No matter what she faced, her sense of humor and authenticity never wavered.

She was predeceased by her loving stepmother, Julia, whose kindness and presence were a meaningful part of Debbie’s life.

Debbie is survived by her brothers Lawrence Spagnoli (and wife Jennifer) and Ronald Spagnoli (and wife Kristie), and her sister Felicia Spagnoli and brother John Ysrael. She is also survived by her loving nephews Alexander Spagnoli and Michael Spagnoli, and niece and nephew Vienna Spagnoli and Sawyer Spagnoli.

She is lovingly remembered by her aunt Joan (and husband Paul), her uncle Donald (and wife Denise), and many dear cousins.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A private cremation will be held, and a Life Celebration will take place at a later date.

In honor of Debbie’s memory, the family welcomes donations to support animal welfare—one of the causes closest to her heart. A meaningful local choice is the Monmouth County SPCA in Eatontown, NJ, where your gift will help care for thousands of abandoned and injured pets each year.
