Obituary of George William Davie

 

George William Davie, 83, of Forked River passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at his residence. He was born and raised in Queens, NY where he met and married Kathryn Carol Testaverde.  Afterward, George and Carol traveled and lived in Lake Hiawatha, NJ, Limerick Ireland, Chicago, and Mexico City, before returning to Howell, NJ to continue raising their family. George had a successful career working for Pfizer and the MTA before his retirement in 2006. He also served in the Marine Reserves and was a respected adjunct professor at NJIT, NYU, and Rutgers. George was a dedicated member of the Garden State Model Boaters in Spring Lake Heights and had a passion for tinkering and building model boats and trains. GHe was proud of his Scottish heritage and enjoyed, reading, taking walks in the woods, studying science, rocks, minerals, and nature. Born the day before Pearl Harbor, George lived a full and rich life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a love for learning.

 

George is predeceased by his parents, George and Dorothy Davie.  He is survived by his wife, Carol Davie of Forked River; three children, George Davie and his wife, Loretta of Long Valley, NJ, Douglas Davie and his wife, Jill of Howell, NJ and Kate Fevola and her husband, Michael of Forked River; eight grandchildren, Collin and his wife, Madison, Noah and his wife, Marnie, Charlotte, Abigail, Madelyn, Michael, Delia and George; two great grandchildren, Marshall and Percy; many nieces, nephews and extended family members; and his beloved dog, Angus.

 

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM for his funeral service. Interment is private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of George may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago IL, 60601 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38501.
