Obituary of James Simone Magliozzo
James Magliozzo, 82, of Freehold passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Jim was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, before relocating to Freehold Township where he raised four boys with his wife Dotty. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degree from CCNY as well as being a member of MENSA. Jim served as an MP in the US Army until 1965 and then proceeded to join the United States Army Reserves. He worked on Wall Street for over 40 years with firms such as IBM, Thomson McKinnon, and eventually retired from EDS in 2008.
Jim’s true happiness was being surrounded by family. Whether that be at the dinner table, a sporting event, or a craps table in AC. He was lovingly referred to as ‘PePa’ by his ten grandchildren. Jim was passionate about his cars, including his Triumph, 1979 Camaro Z28, 1987 Buick Grand National and 2001 Chevy Corvette, along with several motorcycles. Jim was an avid reader, lifelong Yankee fan, lover of comedies, crossword puzzles, good food and a good joke. His personality consisted of a biting sarcasm, a heart of gold, with him being a man who commanded a room.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Christina and James Magliozzo; his brothers-in-law, Alex, James, and John; sister-in-law, Karen; and his beloved son, TJ. He is survived by his wife, Dotty; his son, James; daughter-in-law, Lisa; son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Christine; daughter-in-law, Melissa; son, Ghost; and daughter-in-law Aimee. He is also survived by his pride and joy grandchildren, Matthew, Juliana, Peanut, TJ Jr, Nicolette, Nicholas, Bella, Francesca, Michael, and James. Along with his brother, Joe; sister-in-law, Joan; sister, Rosalind; brothers-in-law John and Tom; sisters-in-laws, Maureen and Donna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 1:00 to 5:00PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold.
