Obituary of Judith Ann Durann

Judith Ann Durann, 63, of Howell passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 16, 2025. She was born in Bayonne, raised in Cranford and had lived in Elizabeth before moving to Howell in 1997.  Judy earned her bachelor’s degree from Trenton State College and worked for many years as a registered nurse at Union Hospital before becoming a stay-at-home mother in the late 1990s.  She was a devoted mother who took great pride in raising her children and was a dedicated sports mom, always cheering from the sidelines and supporting them every step of the way.  In her free time, Judy enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and spending time gardening her flowers, having a love especially for irises.  She relished her time spent each summer by the beach on Plainfield Avenue in Lavalette, which was a tradition of hers for 38 years.  Judy found joy in the magic of Disney, with Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh being her favorite.  She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, adored grandma and aunt.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Elliott; twins, Kelly Jackson and her husband, Daniel of Galloway Township and Jessica Durann and her husband, Alexander Rizzo of Linden; son, John Durann of Howell; grandson, Thomas Brian; siblings, John McKenna and his wife, Jane, Mary Mahal and her husband, Pradeep, Robert McKenna and his wife, Karen, Thomas McKenna and his wife, Debbie, Karen “Kazzoo” Rosado, and Beth Steib and her husband, John; many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
