Obituary of James D. Calandrella
James D. Calandrella, 88, of Marlboro passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Danny was born, raised and had lived in Brooklyn before moving to Marlboro. He retired as a head super for Mario & DiBono
Drywall with over 25 years of dedicated service. As a young man, Danny played ice hockey. He also relished his time with friends playing racquetball. Danny took great pride in his home and yard, always working on a project or tending to his garden. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, loving father and adoring grandfather.
Danny is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathleen (nee Gilligan) Calandrella; his three sons, James Daniel Calandrella, Jr. of Marlboro, NJ, Peter J. Calandrella and his wife, Lucinda of Staten Island, NY and Kevin P. Calandrella and his wife, Carolyn Miesel of Seattle, WA; and four grandchildren, Matthew F. Calandrella, Christina N. Calandrella, Samantha J. Calandrella, Andrew J. Calandrella.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 7:30 PM.
