Obituary of Anatol "Tony" Posidelow
Anatol “Tony” Posidelow, 86, of Howell passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. At the age of 2 his family fled Russia finding refuge in an Austrian displaced persons camp while he was a young boy. They came to the United States in 1949, and settled in Howell. Tony fondly recalled his time serving in the US Army Corp of Engineers and remained patriotic throughout his life. He worked for many years as a skilled carpenter, building homes for so many. He retired after more than thirty years as a Union Carpenter from Local #254. Tony was very proud of his faith and heritage, celebrating at every possible opportunity. He was extraordinary to his family, but above all he was a devoted grandfather. Tony was loved by all for his humor, kind heart, and selfless nature.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann Posidelow; parents, Alexander and Alexandra Posidelow; and sisters, Antonia Kavoleff and Galina Tkacenko. Tony is survived by his children, Alexander Posidelow and his wife, Laura of Howell and Nina Posidelow of Howell; granddaughter, Olivia Posidelow; and many nieces and nephews.
Pannyhida will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Tikhvin Church at St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 200 Alexander Avenue, Howell. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Service on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Our Lady of Tikhvin Church. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir Russian Orthodox Cemetery, 316 Cassville Road, Jackson.
