Obituary of William J. " Billy" Holly, Jr.

William J. “Billy” Holly, Jr. of Freehold, New Jersey, quietly passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the CentraState Medical Center.

“Billy” was born on September 2, 1954, in Neptune, son of the late William J. and Irene Holly.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine, and step-son, Chris Thatcher of Freehold; sister, Janet Holly of Natural Bridge, Virginia, and brother, Donald of Freehold.

He was a life-long resident of Freehold Township, graduating from the Freehold Township High School in 1972. He worked for Electronic Measurements Inc. in Tinton Falls for 37 years.  He loved his family, friends, and cats. He was very proud of building his house like his dad.  Besides his story telling which brought out the laughter, Billy enjoyed playing a round of golf.

A Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral home for his Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Adelphia Cemetery, Howell.
