Obituary of George Porto

George Porto, 90, of Jackson passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 10, 2023.  George was born, raised and lived in Brooklyn, NY.  He moved to Old Bridge to raise his family and retired to Jackson in 1993.  George was an accountant and worked for Lever Brothers in New York City until retirement.  He unretired and then worked for the New York Times until finally re-retiring.  A true Renaissance man, he was a lover of the arts.  George enjoyed baking, had a passion for photography, relished his time watching movies in his home theater, and listening to music.  Yet most of all, he could be found lost in the pages of a good book most likely from the Ocean County Library in Jackson.
