Obituary of Dorothy R. Harris

Dorothy R. Harris, 92, of Howell passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Masonic Village of New Jersey.  Dot was born in South River and was a lifelong Howell resident.  A woman of faith, she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Freehold.  Dot was also part of the woman’s ministries at the church and was a former treasurer.  To say her ministries at the church was her life would be an understatement.  She was skilled at baking, cake decorating, and crocheting; making afghans, baby blankets and other crafts.  Dot relished in her time planting flowers and being a big fan of the NY Yankees and the church softball team. 

She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Anderson, and two grandchildren Annette and Cynthia Rosin. Dot was mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother.  She is survived by children;  Donald Harris and his wife, Jan of Weatherford, TX, Jonathan Harris and his wife, Wendy of Dallas, GA, and Deborah Hamilton and her husband, Bill of Medford Lakes, NJ. 8 Grandchildren; Justin and Christopher Harris, Erich and Priscilla of TX; Joel, Cortney and Noah Harris of GA; Caitlin Hamilton of NJ.  12 Great-Grandchildren; Rachel and Michael of NJ, Malerie, Olivia, Julliette, Joe, Vanessa, Andrew, Alyson, Conor, Aberdeen, and Estella all of TX, 1 Great-Great Grandchild; Joe “J.J.” Jr. of TX, and a cousin; Daryl Rowe.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 with the Rev.
