Lorraine Ventura, 88, of Freehold passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born and raised in Ridgewood, NY, and had lived in Rosedale, Queens, for 44 years before moving to New Jersey in 2004 to live with her children. Lorraine then moved to The Villages, Freehold in 2007 to live by herself for the first time in her life. She worked as a legal secretary until deciding to stay home and raise her five children. Then she retired as the office manager for Feuer Associates on Long Island in 2004. Lorraine was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colts Neck. She was a former parishioner and a member of the Rosary Altar Society at St. Pius X, Rosedale, Queens where she also volunteered at the school. Lorraine was very active in The Villages community, participating in many things. She enjoyed being editor of their magazine, being a member of the stitchery club, and playing Bingo. She liked watching her English TV Shows on PBS, reading, playing Rummikub and cards. Most of all she loved to spend time with family and friends.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, William S. Ventura in 1983, daughter, Patricia Ventura in 1969, and sister, Theresa Belland in 2007. She is survived by her children, Linda DiMonda and her husband, Ronald of Lakewood, Deborah Green and her husband, Richard of Stony Brook, NY, David Ventura and his fiancée, Kim White of Waxhaw, NC, Susan Klein and her husband, Gary of Colts Neck, and Karen Rega and Michael Rega of Freehold Township; daughter-in-law, Aline T. Ventura; grandchildren, Tiffany Roland and her husband, Bruce, Craig DiMonda, Nicholas Green, Michael Green, Alyssa Ventura, William Ventura, Dylan Klein, Elizabeth Klein, Christopher Rega, and Jessie Rega; great grandchildren, Jackson, Olivia, and Savannah; and many dear family and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 9:30 AM for the procession to her 11:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck, NJ 07722. Interment of cremains will be privately held in St. Charles’ Resurrection Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
